Our annual tradition of Summer Park Gatherings continues! We invite the families of gifted children in preschool through high school to gather in a Rochester park each week during the summer vacation. We meet every Tuesday at 10 AM and one Saturday per month at 4 PM. We stay for several hours, so stop by as your schedule allows. Other dates may be added, so please check back for additional dates as the summer progresses.

Kids of all ages play and socialize together while the adults discuss a variety of issues. The children enjoy swinging and climbing on the playground equipment, playing chess and board games, wading in the creek (bring a swimsuit or change
of clothes and water shoes), sharing artwork, and creating elaborate imaginative games and dramas. The kids generally occupy themselves happily for hours with minimal adult involvement.

All of these parks have restrooms and shelters with tables. Come even in the rain, if it’s not too stormy! Feel free to bring toys, games, crafts, art supplies, or sports equipment to share with the group. Bring a picnic lunch or snacks if you wish. Invite a friend!

On most dates, at least one GATEway Board member will be present to greet families, but please do not be discouraged if we are unable to coordinate our schedules to ensure coverage for some dates. Just come and introduce yourself to whoever is there!
